New Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church is an inner city, full gospel, multicultural gathering of believers. Our mission is to spread the word of God and the Truth of the Gospel to the surrounding neighborhoods in Allentown, Pennsylvania. New Bethany's body consists of a diverse group of believers from many different nationalities who are all dedicated to learning, growing, and spreading the Love of Christ and Word of God to everyone we come into contact with.
OUR STORY
New Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church has been preaching and supplying the word of God to downtown Allentown for over a century. With a rich history in downtown Allentown, Bethany E.C. Church was founded in 1895 and for over 130 years, continually served faithfully the people of Allentown and the Greater Lehigh Valley. Having hosted Evangelical figureheads like Billy Sunday, Bethany was a center for the Evangelical Congregational Church hosting conferences and operating as a beacon of hope in Downtown Allentown. In 2002 after many years of ministry and community change, New Bethany E.C. Church continued its legacy of community support under Pastor Gus Al-Khal. For almost 3 decades New Bethany has reached into the community, and served as a "hospital" for the lost. Ministry and outreach continues to be a cornerstone of the church who has raised up and trained over 15 licensed ministers who now serve around the valley. New Bethany continues to welcome all and love those who walk through the door, be it for a moment or to stay.
